The food was very flavorful and spicy even though I ordered mild. I would preferred more shrimp since the shrimp were small but the taste made up for the 6 they gave. They were a bit meaty, more like a chicken texture, but they really tasted so good that you can ignore that. My husband got the jerk chicken pasta. Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic but it was a jerk chicken breast with linguine noodles. It was also good to him and the chicken looked very tender. The plantains were nice and sweet. I would certainly go here again.

Wow! Exceeded all expectations. Not one bad item on the menu. Soups, Jamaican beef patties, plantains, and fried goat were just the start. Don't forget the desserts!

The service was good. The server was helpful and personable and the chef even came out which was a nice personal touch. The ambiance is interesting. It was very plain, kind of a similar layout to a food court. This does not take away from the dining experience, just a good thing to be aware of. The food was plentiful, starting off with plantain chips, which were a lovely surprise. Everything was well-spiced and came out hot to the table, which was great. The mango habanero wings were fantastic, with the right amount of sweetness and then spice. The jerk chicken and djon djon rice were delicious and cooked perfectly. There were lots of gluten free options available!

Based on prior reviews, we came here with high expectations - and they pretty much met them. They started the meal with a bowl of complementary fried plantain chips. We ordered the goat curry, red snapper with rice and sweet potato fries sides. Both were delicious. I get the sense this is Haitian cuisine primarily.. Everything was great and we finished it all. The service was quite friendly if a tad slow just due to the staffing ratio. Bonus is BYOB. Be advised parking is a little tough just because they're so few spots there All in all a welcome addition to the ethnic food scene in West Chester and experience we will repeat .

Yummy casual food, kind service and very homey. We gave it 4 stars. I found the burger tasty, but a little expensive for a $14 burger.

Bathrooms was very clean too Bottom line don't pass this place by or you'll deny your self of a culinary pleasure to your deserving pallet.

West Chester has developed into a Foodie Town with plenty of bars and eateries. With the loss of some of its excellent Thai and Indian places, it now focuses on college-oriented traffic, and decent, but standard American fare. But WC is not especially rich in real ethnic fare. Manje Caribbean is a step towards improving the local choices. Manje is located at 237 E. Gay Street, where the very good Pho shop had been located (near the Domino's). It is easy to miss, and slightly off the main Gay St. strip but has the tremendous advantage of ample free parking - a real premium especially with the shut down of Gay Street. Owned by a Haitian family, Manje has a menu unlike any other eatery in town (other than the equally excellent Miss Winnie's nearby on Market Street). The entrees are varies and contain authentic dishes from that troubled country. We started with some wings, and could not decide between jerk or roasted with sweet habanero dipping sauce. So they brought some of both. They were great. The jerk is not nearly as fiery as my favorite wings over at Miss Winnie's, but easier for my spouse to eat.The dipping sauce is not very hot, but sweet with a little heat. I had the Oxtail Stew ("our most popular entree") and was given a choice of rice and beans or rice with black bean sauce (which they recommended and I chose). Very flavorful and clearly slow-cooked so the meat fell off the bone. My wife tried the chicken stew with red beans and rice - a huge serving that had to be brought home as leftovers. The Caribbean flavors are a delight, with ingredients like allspice that help set apart this style of cuisine from the run of the mill. Oxtail is somewhat fatty, so rice is a good accompaniment. The black bean sauce added an addition depth of richness. We did not bring wine this time, and I was curious about the juice of the soursop fruit, a local mainstay. We tried it and it was delicious - sweet, but not overly so, and with a creamy, almost milk-like texture. My wife thought it was a little like 'drinking ice cream'. Manje offers vegetarian stews, curries, and a red snapper entre. Next visit I will try the goat stew. Let's hope Manje represents a start of a wider selection of great ethnic food choices in West Chester.

A new and incredible addition to the West Chester area. Authentic home cooked Caribbean cuisine. Solid 5 stars. Service is from the heart. They want you to have an experience and go to great lengths to show you their hospitality. Truly welcoming. The food.... It's the real deal. Jerk chicken, red snapper, the best butternut squash soup ever. Everything. Everyone. Incredible! A new saved favorite. Will definitely be back.
